Oh yeah… This quote from St. Frances of Rome really opened my eyes, and at the same time it's comforting: "A married woman must often leave God at the altar to find Him in her household care."
I have just started reading the 1997 abridged edition of "Holiness for Housewives" by Dom Hubert van Zellar (orig. copyright 1951). Chap 1 begins with "Don't be misled by a false notion of holiness." Good reading there.
