My friend, Hallee, posted this neat story today that I wanted to share with you: Pray Big For Your Child.
After reading it you may want to check out this book that I’ve been praying with for years now. As you can see from the picture above, I write in the date each time I pray that page for my kids. These prayers are a great way to get me out of the same old, “Lord please keep our kids safe and healthy” rut. This book is part of my morning routine… the days that I am good about putting time with God first that is. (Sometimes the morning gets away from me and I don’t have that quiet time – then I feel out of sorts the rest of the day when that happens.) The book is called,

I love reading testimonies like this one about the power of prayer in peoples lives. When I got married I recieved the book “The Power of a Praying Wife” by Stormie O’Martian as a wedding gift. It sat on the shelf for awhile, until issues in my marriage led me to pick it up and begin using it to pray. I must say that I saw good things come from my prayers, which in the book are assigned to very specific parts of your spouses life. This led me to buy her other book, “The Power of a Prayng Parent”. I now follow those prayer suggestions for my children, and look to it whenever I need guidance about a certain aspect of my children’s lives. I cant say enough how important it is to pray for the special people that God has given us. We live each day with our children and our spouses and because of that we are in a position to help them most, with our prayers.
