The Prayer Project

prayer project

Even if you’re still on the journey and don’t yet fully embrace the idea of God and prayer, I’ll bet there are times in your life that you wish you believed.  Times that you could really use a little help from above.  Everyone is either going through a tough time now, or will at some point in your life.  Will you “act as if” you believe it all, just for today?  There are many people out there who have big hearts and would like to pray for you if only you ask.  God might surprise you, too.

Join in on the Prayer Project:  ask for prayers, pray for others, or do both!

  1. In the comments, let us know how you’ve been hurting recently and what you’d like prayers for specifically.
  2. Keep it short so those of us wanting to pray can easily read them all:  one paragraph with just a few sentences if possible.
  3. After you share your request, check the box to be notified when others comment, and then will you pray for the new prayer requests that come in, too?
  4. Tell others about the Prayer Project.  Will you email friends and family, blog about it, Tweet or Facebook about it, etc.?
  5. I’ll eventually write a follow up post on this with some insights on prayer, something I’m learning a lot more about these days, so please subscribe to this blog.  (See the blue subscribe buttons over there toward the top?  Don’t worry, I don’t update here too much so the updates won’t overwhelm your inbox.  I shoot for once a week but it often doesn’t happen.)

Hi, I would like prayers for me and my family. My husband is going thru a ‘midlife crisis’ and it is greatly affecting our entire family. We have 4 kids and my husband, their dad has moved out of the house and is acting like a teenager. Please help God bring my husband back out of darkness and turn his heart back to Jesus. Please have him repent and to turn his life over to God. Please soften his heart of stone and turn it to flesh. We love him so much and know the power of prayer and the Holy Spirit in prompting him to make the changes needed in his life.

Kathleen, thanks for being first!

My heart aches for you. I will be praying and I know others will, too. I have a good book to recommend to you. God definitely used it to help save our marriage years ago and I know it can help save yours. “Love must be tough” by Dr. James Dobson.

God bless!
Kelly

Kathleen – I will be praying for you as well. My sister in law is going through almost the exact situation (they have 2 teens) and so this will be on my heart quite a bit.
Please pray for my sister Valerie. She has just been diagnosed with lymphoma. She is all alone (lives across the country from me, in TX) and does not have any support system. She’s had quite a rough life and has lost her faith in God. She is 44.

Jennifer, I’ll pray for your sister in law and also for Valerie! I’m especially going to pray she’s open to talking with you about God…

I got this link from your Kelly the Kitchen Kop blog I subscribe to. I would like to request prayer for my physical healing. I have had unexplained chronic pain for over 7 years. I have been to numerous drs and tried many, many treatments, but no one has been able to diagnose or help me. My body feels like it is on fire 24/7 and I have been unable to function normally for years now. I changed my diet and lifestyle years ago to eating real food from local sources and am really strict about living healthy. Although this has helped some, it has not brought about significant relief. My doctors have told me that I will never get any better. I am a woman of faith and know that nothing is impossible with God. I truly need a miracle. Please pray for my healing and peace. Thank you. Blessings,
Rebecca

Rebecca, Our God can do miracles and I’m praying with you that He does just that.
Side note: have you tried an extremely low carb diet? I’ve heard of that working for chronic pain relief. Also, have you seen a naturopath or someone similar? You’ve probably already heard of and tried both of those, but wanted to throw it out there…
With prayers and hugs,
Kelly

Thank you for your prayers. I have been on a low carb (and at times no grain and fruits) diet for years. I also have seen numerous naturopath drs, accupuncturist, holistic type professionals along with MDs, DOs, and the list goes on and on…You name it, I have tried (and paid for) it. I have done everything humanly possible to bring about healing. The rest is up to God. Thank you again for your prayers.

Wow. I can’t imagine how frustrated you must feel.

Lord Jesus, when we are at the end of ourselves and anything else there could be to try on our own, that is when we can rely more on YOU and we can see your power when you heal us. Please Jesus, heal Rebecca so she can be a witness to all of your love and power. AMEN!

Kelly, I’d like to add my father-in-law and family to the list. He was diagnosed with ALS on Friday and we’re all reeling, especially as it seems to be progressing very quickly (already having difficulty swallowing and is losing weight, etc.). Thanks. Praying for the others above!
