Misc.

Jen’s recent post, How to keep the internet from driving you crazy, had some great tips that I knew would help you like it has helped me, as someone who is on this machine way too much.

What is it that drives you the most crazy about the internet?

For me, it’s the way sitting down to do ‘one thing’ can suck up hours of my day, and I’m not exaggerating.

Also, I wanted to share a prayer with you that my good friend, Nancy, gave me when I was struggling with my latest computer technical nightmare.

A prayer asking St. Isidore of Seville, patron Saint of the internet, for his intercession:  (A fancy way to say that we’re asking him to pray for us and with us.)

Dear St. Isidore, please ask God to remind me that my work is not only in this box before me, my work is in the people around me and the world I am a part of.  Please pray to the Lord to keep my eyes focused, my mind clear, and my heart open, so that only goodness can come from the work I produce.  Amen.

Is that the perfect prayer for a crazy blogger or what?  If the internet drives you crazy at times, it may be the perfect prayer for you, too.  :)

Bono

An excerpt from a Bono interview:

My understanding of the Scriptures has been made simple by the person of Christ. Christ teaches that God is love. What does that mean? What it means for me: a study of the life of Christ. Love here describes itself as a child born in straw poverty, the most vulnerable situation of all, without honor. I don’t let my religious world get too complicated. I just kind of go: Well, I think I know what God is. God is love, and as much as I respond [sighs] in allowing myself to be transformed by that love and acting in that love, that’s my religion. Where things get complicated for me, is when I try to live this love. Now that’s not so easy.”

Well, I’ve finally got this blog all moved over onto its own site and off Blogger.  There are still a few bugs to work out before I begin posting, so please hang with me.  (Some links are still going over to Blogger…)

I have many post ideas to get going on (that I’ve been waiting patiently to share with you once I got this site ready!), but I don’t know what kind of posting schedule I’ll end up with.  I hope you’ll subscribe for free updates using the buttons on the homepage so you won’t miss anything.

As much as I love writing about health & nutrition topics, I’m excited to have a place to share posts that have a little more depth than the ones I write on my Kitchen Kop blog.  :)

God is funny.

Just when I’m wondering how I’m going to keep all these balls in the air, He puts something new on my heart. It started with some “inklings” from Him, and then He gave me this passion for the new idea. Then, lo and behold, He gave me the time to get it going…

I think it’s time I made something more out of this Christianity 101 blog.

So I’m in the beginning stages, and get this, I’m trying something new for me. I’m trying to just let God lead and NOT stress over any of it.

I do want to thank all of you, my faithful subscribers, who have hung with me even though I so rarely post here. That will be changing soon, although I’m not sure of the time-line, and while I still don’t think I’ll post a LOT here, I’ll definitely be increasing the frequency. (I have lots of good ideas that I can’t wait to tell you about!)

I’ve got the domain purchased, my hosting set up, and my WordPress installed. Next I’m getting my theme set and I’ll go from there. (I’ll move it off Blogger eventually, to its own site.)

So keep your eyes peeled and I’ll keep you posted to let you know how it’s going.
