unPLANNED

unplanned

It’s been years since I read a book in 4 hours straight, but it’s 1:00 am and I just did. There was no putting this book down:

Unplanned: The Dramatic True Story of a Former Planned Parenthood Leader’s Eye-Opening Journey across the Life Line

I loved the overwhelming message in this book that encourages us to be kind and loving to everyone, no matter where they fall on this debate.  Each side really does firmly believe they are doing what is right, and most are good-hearted people.  I’ve found that to be true in my own interactions with friends who are pro-choice.  I’ve also found that, similar to this author, many who are pro-choice have had abortions themselves.  If you think that you don’t know anyone who has had an abortion, you couldn’t be more wrong.  I’ll bet many of your close friends, or even your sisters, have had abortions.  It is very very common.  This doesn’t mean they are “bad” people by any means.  Instead they unknowingly have been taken in by all the messages society has beat into our generation.  Others felt there was just no other way.

To those who have had abortions:

Whether you’re one of my readers, or maybe even my friend or relative, know that I am not judging you in the least.  I used to be deceived and think it was okay, too.  I easily could’ve been in your shoes, and my life hasn’t been perfect either.  Please read this book, and then know that if you are sorry, God will forgive you faster than you can ask.

Don’t know that I could read the book in one sitting. It doesn’t seem like the sort of book I could just pick up at night and read before going to bed. I’ve never been down the abortion road, except as a protester at a clinic. But I’m going to recommend this book to my pro-life friends on facebook to pass around. I’m sure PlanNoParenthood does NOT want people hearing THIS story. Bravo, Abby!

Hi I’m Kelly, a Catholic Christian, a wife, a homeschooling Mom, and a writer.  Matthew’s Gospel says, “Man does not live by bread alone” — and as passionate as I am about real food, nutrition, and natural healing, I believe that knowing the Lord is even more important!  So I started this blog in addition to my other one so I could hopefully help those who don’t “get” a lot of things about Christianity, which is just how I used to feel.

Over at my Kelly the Kitchen Kop blog I talk about how you keep your family healthy without going crazy in the process. 🙂

Be sure to subscribe for new updates above, that way you won’t miss anything, although I don’t update here very often.
