Amazon Relief Part 1: I Can’t Do Everything, But I’ll Do Everything I Can

January 24, 2011 2 Comments

Two of my close friends have traveled to Brazil with a man named Jim Flickinger to see firsthand the good that Amazon Relief is doing, and they have both come home in awe of the difference that this ministry makes for so many.  (They share their stories in parts two and three.)  Jim & his wife, Lois, are the most kind, humble people you’ll ever meet, and they started this ministry in 1985.  They are from right here in Grand Rapids, and are known for feeding the poor on the streets here in our city and in the Amazon.

Jim says, ““We may not be able to solve all the world’s problems, but we can solve some.”

Watch the below video and consider adding this ministry to your places to give.  What could be better than knowing that 100% of your donations are going to help the poor, the hungry, and the sick?

“Amazon Relief takes no money out of any donation for administrative costs, travel, mailings, or even the cost of this website.  All these costs are paid by some “special angels” or from bank interest. Every dollar donated goes to those in need.”

Wow! I just canceled the organization I have contributed to for so long because of rising administration fees and was looking for another! I’ll be sending them a donation.
    Thanks Kelly

Sometimes God’s timing can be so cool! (Other times it frustrates me! LOL!)

Hi I’m Kelly, a Catholic Christian, a wife, a homeschooling Mom, and a writer.  Matthew’s Gospel says, “Man does not live by bread alone” — and as passionate as I am about real food, nutrition, and natural healing, I believe that knowing the Lord is even more important!  So I started this blog in addition to my other one so I could hopefully help those who don’t “get” a lot of things about Christianity, which is just how I used to feel.

Over at my Kelly the Kitchen Kop blog I talk about how you keep your family healthy without going crazy in the process. 🙂

Be sure to subscribe for new updates above, that way you won’t miss anything, although I don’t update here very often.
