I know nothing about football. Nothing. The kids will joke at school about who likes Michigan better and who likes Michigan State better, so they’ll ask me and I’ll tell them, “Don’t care.” “But Moooom, which ONE, if you had to pick?!” They don’t get it, I really don’t care. But now my answer will be this: my favorite team is whichever one Tim Tebow is playing for.
I loved the Superbowl ads that he and his Mom, Pam, did last year with Focus on the Family.
Then I saw him on this Huffington Post video of his interview on Bill O’Reilly. Did he just say, in clear language, “God bless you” on television?! Did he talk about glorifying God with how he plays football?! How sad that this type of language is so rare now. I watched it and said to our 12 year old son, “Now THAT is a real man.”
Next I went and ordered two of his new books to send to a couple of my nephews who love football. It’s called, Through My Eyes. (Pictured at right.)
We are big fans too. Especially my husband… who is now a football fan since he now plays for the Broncos (who play down the street from us.) My husband even started a facebook page praying for tim tebow or something like that. So cool to see someone be sold out for Jesus in the public light!
This is pathetic. Tim Tebow is one of the biggest self-promoters in the history of collegiate or professional sports. Tebow has stealthily created his own ‘brand’, all the while touting christian ideals and getting people like the author of this blog entry to mindlessly idolize him and buy his books. He’s written two books!? What kind of insight could this man possibly have at this point in his life? I can barely stand to listen to a 30 second sound bite from this guy. Can’t imagine trying to slog through a book that he didn’t even write. Again: Pathetic.
Just saw this and had to comment. Living in Florida and hearing about Tebow for years and years I can honestly say he is the real deal. I’ve never been a Gator fan but have always liked and respected Tebow for his walk on and off the field. He is a great role model for young boys like my own – especially since Tebow is also a homeschool graduate like my son will be someday. We are all human and if Tebow has troubles someday in the future he will just be human like the rest of us, but he will probably handle them appropriately unlike many Hollywood folk. 🙂
That’s great to hear, thanks for sharing! 🙂
