It’s stressful to be a god.

April 5, 2010 2 Comments

Now and then I’ll link to a post from the “Conversion Diary” blog.  Usually it’s when Jen writes another post about me.  I don’t know how she keeps doing that.  See if this sounds like anyone you know…

“But as time goes on, and your status grows in your own mind, you start to feel the weight of it all; when you make yourself a god, you assume the responsibilities of a god: being everywhere at once, taking care of everything, having an answer for every possible dilemma. You must plan, plan, plan to make sure that everything goes the right way, and then come up with infinite backup plans in case those plans don’t work out — after all, you alone hold the entire universe in existence.

It’s stressful.”

hahah..well done. Yeah, who hasn’t been THERE? Sometimes called “control” issues. I say, go for it…control and all, and just accept it for now without too much attachment.
Guys call it quality…for whatever reason, we women call it control issues.. Well, no matter.
Somewhere in our psyches we know we’re not God. Whew…what a relief: but we hold that spark within us.
    For one, I am grateful.
    Hugs..and thanks. Made me laugh.

Yes, that first Adam would like to set himself on the throne of God. Oh, but that last Adam, the Christ in us will not let go until He finishes the work that He starts in us. Hallelujah! He takes us from the works of the flesh to the Sabbath rest in Him. He alone is worthy to be praised. All honor and glory be to Him who sits upon the throne. Blessings to you and your family!

Hi I’m Kelly, a Catholic Christian, a wife, a homeschooling Mom, and a writer.  Matthew’s Gospel says, “Man does not live by bread alone” — and as passionate as I am about real food, nutrition, and natural healing, I believe that knowing the Lord is even more important!  So I started this blog in addition to my other one so I could hopefully help those who don’t “get” a lot of things about Christianity, which is just how I used to feel.

Over at my Kelly the Kitchen Kop blog I talk about how you keep your family healthy without going crazy in the process. 🙂

Be sure to subscribe for new updates above, that way you won’t miss anything, although I don’t update here very often.
