FAQ’s About Christianity

November 21, 2009 24 Comments

“I don’t get the ‘Christianity’ thing, and I’m too embarrassed to ask anyone, because I feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t know this stuff…” If this is how you feel, you’re not alone. I hope to answer some basic questions about Christianity, things I always wondered about before I began growing closer to […]

1. "What makes Christianity different from other religions?"

April 6, 2008 5 Comments

No credible historians debate whether or not Jesus Christ lived on this earth, they all believe He did. What is debated is whether or not He died and rose from the dead – that part is the biggest difference between Christians and other religions, we are the only ones who claim to have a God […]

2. "What is the ‘old testament’ and ‘new testament’ and how do we know any of the Bible is even TRUE?”

April 6, 2008 1 Comment

The Old Testament is the whole first part of the Bible that includes the time before Jesus came to earth, beginning with God creating the world. The New Testament is the rest of the Bible that includes Jesus’ time on earth, his life and death, and the beginning of Christianity – how it grew in […]

3. "Who are the Father, Son & Holy Spirit?"

April 6, 2008 2 Comments

“Sometimes I hear Christians refer to God as “Father”, other times they talk about God as Jesus, and then who or what is the Holy Spirit? And which one do you pray TO?” This one used to stump me big time. Here’s the scoop: Christians believe in something called the Trinity – “Tri” = 3. […]

4. "What does it mean that ‘Jesus died for my sins’? and how do we know He really came back to life?”

April 6, 2008 5 Comments

In the Old Testament (see previous question) a huge part of the whole story of God and His people has to do with how they “atoned” (made up for) their sins by coming once a year to the temple to offer a perfect sacrifice to God. This means they brought the very best of what they […]

5. "I never said I wanted to live forever…"

April 6, 2008 Leave a Comment

But you’ll go somewhere when you die, and if you don’t believe that, then what a depressing thought, you really think this is IT? Do you really think that is possible? What if you’re wrong?  Eternity is a long time. I’ll repeat what I said in another post: Don’t miss this… What IF?  What if […]

6. "But I’m not such a bad person…"

April 6, 2008 Leave a Comment

…especially compared to most, only the really rotten people have to worry about where they’re going when they die, right?” Here’s the thing though — we all “sin” (mess up), and yes, some may sin in smaller ways than others, but compared to who? The guy in prison? The person next door? Or compared to […]

7. "What if I want to believe, but I just don’t think I do?"

April 6, 2008 Leave a Comment

First of all, PRAY and ASK for the gift of faith! Faith is “believing what we can’t see”, just keep really trying to grow in your faith, and this is how:  “Fake it ’til you make it”, or “Act as IF” you are a faithfilled person by doing what those with faith do, such as… […]

8. "For me ‘it’ is just not there, why don’t I feel anything?"

April 6, 2008 1 Comment

“I was raised in a Christian church and have always tried to live right, I go to church on Sundays and I’ve even tried to pick up my Bible before, but I just don’t get it. I see other Christians who seem so “on fire” in their faith, and for me, “it” just isn’t there, […]

9. "Is there really a heaven?"

April 6, 2008 1 Comment

This question makes me think of what it must be like for babies before they are born. They probably can’t “imagine” another world beyond where they are, safe and warm inside their mother. Yet they have to “die” to that world to be born into a new even bigger and more beautiful world. We are […]

Hi I’m Kelly, a Catholic Christian, a wife, a homeschooling Mom, and a writer.  Matthew’s Gospel says, “Man does not live by bread alone” — and as passionate as I am about real food, nutrition, and natural healing, I believe that knowing the Lord is even more important!  So I started this blog in addition to my other one so I could hopefully help those who don’t “get” a lot of things about Christianity, which is just how I used to feel.

Over at my Kelly the Kitchen Kop blog I talk about how you keep your family healthy without going crazy in the process. 🙂

Be sure to subscribe for new updates above, that way you won’t miss anything, although I don’t update here very often.
