Psalm 40

April 11, 2011 1 Comment

You will love this recent post from Hallee’s blog. She has such a sweet, compassionate heart, and her story really stirred something in me that has been brewing stronger lately… a deeper desire to do more for those who are less fortunate. See if it stirs you in the same way. 🙂

Hillsong Video: “Mighty to Save”

March 28, 2011 1 Comment

They played this at church earlier and I love it, so I’ve been playing it over and over on YouTube while I work tonight. It’s so uplifting and fills me with hope and faith that the Lord really can move mountains… Remember that tonight as you struggle with whatever cross you might be carrying in your life right now.

Saint Maria Goretti – an Example of Purity & Forgiveness

March 23, 2011 2 Comments

The story of Saint Maria Goretti is such a moving and beautiful example of forgiveness that it will not leave you, but for me it didn’t totally rock my world until I saw this show on EWTN one afternoon, a one-man drama on the life of Alessandro, the man who murdered Maria after trying to rape her…

Too Busy To Help Others? (And Learning the “No” Word)

Last year our third grade daughter became friends with a special needs boy at school who has a serious and life threatening illness…

Amazon Relief Part 3: Amy’s Story

February 24, 2011 Leave a Comment

God showed me Christ in the people of Brazil. Around every turn, in various people and circumstances, Jesus was present teaching me and calling for help from His brothers and sisters around the world.

Amazon Relief Part 2: David’s Story

February 4, 2011 Leave a Comment

In part one I told you about our favorite charity organization to share our tithe with, Amazon Relief, and showed you a movie on the work they do to help the poor. Today in part 2, you’ll hear from my friend, David, who went on a trip with Jim Flickinger a few years ago to see firsthand how Amazon Relief is helping those in need… He also shared some beautiful pictures from his trip that will melt your heart.

Amazon Relief Part 1: I Can’t Do Everything, But I’ll Do Everything I Can

January 24, 2011 2 Comments

Two of my close friends have traveled to Brazil with a man named Jim Flickinger to see firsthand the good that Amazon Relief is doing, and they have both come home in awe of the difference that this ministry makes for so many. Best of all 100% of donations go to help the poor.

A Church I Never Knew About

This is a copy of what the first Bible printed in English in America looked like. This Bible was printed by the U.S. Congress in 1782. In the records it says that this Bible was, “A neat edition of the Holy Scriptures for the use of schools.” So the first Bible printed in America in English was printed by Congress for the use of our schools?

How Small Are We?

My friend, Brother Andy, sent the following video with these words: “Here is a video clip that I think is worth watching. It brings to mind the immensity of God’s creation, but more so, despite our place in this large universe, God still thought so much of us that he sent his only Son to redeem […]

The Desires of Your Heart

My Aunt Karen sent me a beautiful email this week and said it was OK if I shared it with all of you; but first, some back-story…

Hi I’m Kelly, a Catholic Christian, a wife, a homeschooling Mom, and a writer.  Matthew’s Gospel says, “Man does not live by bread alone” — and as passionate as I am about real food, nutrition, and natural healing, I believe that knowing the Lord is even more important!  So I started this blog in addition to my other one so I could hopefully help those who don’t “get” a lot of things about Christianity, which is just how I used to feel.

Over at my Kelly the Kitchen Kop blog I talk about how you keep your family healthy without going crazy in the process. 🙂

Be sure to subscribe for new updates above, that way you won’t miss anything, although I don’t update here very often.
